Would I do things differently if I could live my wedding again? Of course! I’d eat some of my own food, for starters!

I’d get my hair done differently. Grr.

I’d pick the J. Crew Rebecca rather than the Goddess.

I’d hire my talented friend to photograph the thing.

But we saved tons of money and had a laid-back reception, all of this crucial to our life right now. Big party and Aspergers don’t mix, but we navigated a way through it all and my husband looks back on the event quite fondly.

I’m glad to be crafting for gifts and useful things again, rather than 13 centerpieces. If only I had a camera to show these things.

Flowers.

I have been making lots of flowers this summer. I have been considering making centerpieces for my WEDDING! but haven’t committed to anything yet. I also made my favors already but those are a surprise. Most of these flowers are from various tutorials but I don’t feel like linking yall up right now. The bubble petal flowers are from Martha Stewart’s website and the other pink ones are tissue paper carnations. The map ones are kusudama flowers–usually they are glued together into a ball and hung but I made those into stemmed flowers.

Introducing Dr. Skirt

I call it Dr. Skirt because it was made from the sleeves of a doctor’s coat. Which was cast off at an office I clean. I washed them don’t worry! Seriously recycling-ness here. I even used the buttons from it. The only new part of the skirt is the thread.

And my awesome sewing machine.

I got it for 49 bucks from a lady who was moving down to Florida.

I got the sleeve-skirt idea from a hilarious tutorial on Threadbanger.

Bears, if you cares!

My free-hand bear. I made this months ago but the muzzle/mouth was all wrong and made the poor thing look like a blue pig. Amigurumi World helped me with bear faces. I also made this more homely dude from the book: It seems when I follow patterns, the results are less than stellar. Noted.Yet the author is the one who started the putting-the-muzzle-above-the-eyes thing and I finally see why. She did it high enough on the head so it looked like the creature was looking up at you. A lot of amigurumi-ers do this without achieving that affect. Example: one of the many many ridiculous bear cupcakes:

Gifts for the Grad

I found Amigurumi World in the library last week! So along with a promised strawberry for one of my future bridesmaids who graduates on Sunday, I made a cafe con leche with steam rising out of him which is from the book. The strawberry was free-hand. Both took an hour or less.

My Folklore Bag!!!

I finished this bag tonight!!! I know–I forwent actually going out and hanging out with people to finish it but I was so excited!!! Look at this thing!

I followed the pattern from the book One-Yard Wonders, one of my Christmas presents. So yeah, this bag is from one yard of fabric. So if you give me a yard of fabric, I can make this for you!!!

Crochet Bouquet

Yarn and some light wire created this bouquet. Hoping to make more intricate flowers in the future and be able to sell them or use them for my WEDDING. But for now. This is a nice sign of spring’s coming. I should really take pictures during the day when the light is halfway decent. Good Lord.
